8600M VS 8800M-benchmarking Crysis video

Damn...I feel sorry about my 5920G with 8600M GT
:O
-
and the weight of laptop?
i doubt that it will be less than 3KG what is normal for laptop.
e.g. compal ifl90
it will be more like 4,5kg and costs twice as much . so in my eyes buy a good PC what runs crysis at veryhigh + cheap laptop for mobile -
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
surely they mean 8700gt
since rock dont do the xtreme 770 with 8600
but its just a typo (although the INQ had the same typo!!!)
massive difference considering Nvidia were "trying" to sell us the 8700 as an Enthusiast Gaming Card!!!
I for one am waiting to see what the competition turns out, because the price hike is too much, i.e. they were already overcharging for the 8700 cards! -

Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6

Don't be too discouraged. If you turn shadows and shaders to low, with all else on high at that res, you'll get decent fps (as long as you're OC'd).
-
The 8800m is a solid card!! I'm really looking forward to next summer when hopefully they'll find a way to put it in a decent sized laptop.

Bigspin,
Thanks for posting that link. That video gave a very good idea of the performance we can expect from the 8800M vs 8600M. Best information weve got as far as im concerned. -
If you look at the hardware specs, the 8800gtx has three times the number of stream processors of the 8600gt and it is 256 bit bus. So you would expect it to have around three times the processing power.
-
Damn man, and i have to keep this laptop for like 2 years :s (8600M GT)
-
Maybe people are so dissapointed with the 8700mGT that they are simply trying to fase it out?
-
-
Meh. just buy an 8800 separetely and fit it yourself.
-
That isn't even possible in mine -
Posted this vid link in my thread too.
But yeah, looks good. Good enough for me to want to order one anyway. Not sure why people are complaining about the price though, we all knew it would cost an arm and a leg if the specs were true. Kinda killed my idea of wanting 2 in SLI but hell one is awsome so. -
All that test says, to me, personally, is that Crysis is a very poorly designed game from a performance stand point. I wish computer game companies would spend more time optimizing their games for the current technology as opposed to taking short cuts and then hoping that all their clientelle will switch over to the new generation of hardware...
I just bought a laptop with the 8600gt, so maybe I'm biased, but I'm sure that as soon as people start buying laptops with the 8800, games will come out that will play just as laggy on it as crysis is on the 8600...
Maybe it's a huge conspiracy between nvidia, ati, and computer game companies to keep gouging us for more money... -
i'm not disappointed at all. i knew what 8600 was made for before i got it. it's a decent mid-range card and a little bit more
-
I am in no way disappointed with my 8600 either, I'm disappointed with Crysis

Thanks bigspin for the information.
I'm not disappointed at 8600gt either... Except for Crysis and a few games it serves me well. -
-
-
I'm not disappointed with my 8600 on games like bioshock, cod4, css, hl2,...
But again, Crysis is the problem for me ^.^
I hope that there will come some even better drivers that increases the performance -
I hope a future patch improves performance by alot
-
Anyone think the base price for the m15x will change? Its currently at $1399 I believe (from the temp url of course) -
I believe I heard that Crytek whatever will release a major patch I believe... Idk when but my friend lives in germany and said hes heard this so many times from ppl who complain about crysis (since most of his gaming friends... play cs1.6 so they own the low end stuff... hence discussion about patch)
