Does anyone play Counter Strike Source and have a 256MB 8600M GT Card?

I upgraded to 4GB of RAm last night hoping that it would fix the stuttering issue that I get while playing Counter Strike which is basically the only game I wanted to play with this laptop...but the problem was not fixed.

When I'm in a game, my FPS is at about 150 BUT when I run it starts skipping and stuttering.

I know their is an issue with this card regarding stuttering but does ANYONE with an 8600M GT run Source without the stuttering? If so, what constant FPS are you getting and what driver are you using.

    Thanks

I play with the 128MB 8600M GT DDR3 card and never had any problems.

    I'm using the 169.04 Forceware from laptopvideo2go.

Sounds that you have a problem with the drivers. As War-Crimes said check www.laptopvideo2go.com and try his forceware.

I have the 8600m GT GDDR3 and it runs great,I have the newest drivers from laptopvideo2go. Occasional crash here and there but I blame Vista.

169.04 is a great driver, I used that on many notebooks and my desktop and never had a problem with it.

If you get tearing problems because of the high FPS, you can turn on VSync and it might make your gameplay a bit better. Worth a try.
