    hi,

i want to undervolt my 8600MGT cuz if i overclock it it becomes too heat.
does anybody know which voltages i need for the card to make it run less heat?

I have a 9600m GT GDDR3 ... but the principle behind undervolting for your gpu should be the same.

What you have to do in order to undervolt your card is to create a bootable DOS USB stick (usually accomplished by using HP tool for creating it).
Then also have GpuZ (so you can extract the stock BIOS for your gpu) and Nibitor (so you can modify the extracted stock bios).

I forgot the exact instructions, but I do think Laptopvideo2go website should have them.

Bear in mind that bios flashing the gpu is not fool proof and can be problematic ... but I was able to do it (undervolted my 9600m GT to 0.89V), as did others, so there shouldn't be that many problems if you follow the instructions to the letter.

I would also recommend you look into restoring your original gpu bios if something does go wrong.

You say it overheats when overclocking, but what about leaving it at normal clocks?

Unless its getting too hot at factory settings, you should leave it at that... my opinion, anyway...

Overclocking a undervolted card. I don't know how will that work, just pointing out.
