i was just looking at the asus g1 reviews on this site (there are 3 of them) one of them is equipped with the 8600gt ddr3 and the other 2 are equipped with the 7700. the 7700's got a better 3dmark score by around 600 or so, but i dont see any g1's anymore equipped with 7700's.
just wondering, which of the 2 cards is better, and why cant i find any more g1's with 7700's?

8600m Gt Gddr3. You can't find more G1S with 7700 because the 7700 GT is an outdated video card.

Don't place too much emphasis on 3dmark since it isn't the most reliable video card benchmark. The DX10 8600GT is better than the 7700 especially since the GDDR3 version is just about the best card for 15" laptops on the market now.

You know - it's almost the end of 2007. If you're going to get a new laptop, you should really be getting DX10 Cards and Vista if the cards are quite close in abilities - it's definitely more future proof - in this future I talk of is in the very near future.
8600gt ddr3 vs go 7700?
