Forget about 8600GT SLI, the 8800M GTX will be launched on Nov19 and will smash all mobile GPUs...

I think the bottom line is that it's not worth it to SLI an 8600m GT as opposed to just putting a better single card in there.

That is exactly the point. The 8600 Gt will become a mid-entry DX10 video card, the 8700GT a performance one and the 8800M GTX an enthusiast. Save yourself the bother and forget about the 8600 Gt and wait for a laptop with the 8800m GTX.

Assuming Beatsiz can pay for his enthusiast laptop. He's been going on and on about what laptop to buy over the past 2 months and hasn't once listened to others who told him that the 8800 wasn't coming out until now.

Hopefully his parents can give him the allowance money so that he can buy the new alienware and stop spamming the forums over which DX10 card to pick and where to buy it.

I think an Alienware would be an excellent choice! ;)

Two 8600M-GTs aren't a bad choice. Would you rather have a single 8700M-GT or two 8600M-GTs? The Toshiba X205 is available with both configurations. I already tested the 8700M-GT version and I'm typing to you on the 8600M-GT SLI version now. I think it will be noticeably faster in games. Look for the gaming review in the coming weeks.

For $2,000, a Toshiba X205 is a good choice. You can get it for less if you look around.

Before you make a statement like that next time look at the time and date on the post. I posted that before the leaked Alienware information got to me.

The video card isn't everything. I still stand by the Toshiba for its value. It has a lot of awesome features.
