Hey I 174.74 driver right now. I upgraded to play Crysis and COD4 and I overclocked it a little bit.

Now TF2 has serious issue with loading, playing a game is at a 40% success rate of joining. Dustbowl map never works, tried a billion times.

TF2 worked fine before when I used to stock driver, and now it's really glitchy. So I'm wondering what's the next driver I should use? I still want to play Crysis and COD etc.

I use 167.45 (Dell Driver) and it's been rock stable for me. I play COD4 and TF2 (don't have Crysis though).

Newest stable driver for the 8 series cards, according to Nvidia's site, is the 175.16 driver.

either downgrad to the one before or upgrade to the one after and see if that works.

That driver plays TF2 AMAZINGLY. For the first time I saw tf2 at 40fps vs 15 fps

it is the newest driver, but it doesn't really matter. its not like the older drivers get better with age. they are what they are.

174.74 is not going to get any better a month from now, even though it will be older. so the goal is to find a fast and stable driver and stick with it until the release of the next fast and stable driver.

174.16 had good TF2 performance for me, I'll have to try 175.80 though since X2P and I have the same system.

    hey thanks guys

I just installed 175.80 and rivatuner says it's not recommended to use it for this driver since it still doesnt support it

i can still turn the overclock gauge and i assume it's doing the job?

however should i just turn off rivatuner just to be on the safe side?

Ya just tried TF2 twice, crashed both times on 175.80.

Went through loading process, opened up the MoTD then froze right before I was about to press continue

same crashing "protocol" like when i had 174.74

I m verifying the cache integrity of my game files right now, maybe I ll try a new driver later

People have reported that this driver works for tf2, so far it doesn't =\
