    Im running RivaTuner,
    And it reads this:

Core Clock / ROP Domain, MHz - 513.00

Core Clock / shader domain, MHz - 1026.00
    Memory Clock, MHz: 702.00

    Core Temperature: 78 C

    em... is that good? o_O

Edit:I'm not too knowleadgable bout overclock and stuff, im just running it stock... with the... 156.69 drivers from the windows update stuff

As far as I know, RivaTuner only reads our 8600m's Temps right. Clocks will be all sorts of messed up. Is that 78C idle?

    Gee.....
would the room temperature have an impact on it?
I live in Honduras, room temperature right now is at about.... 30C

Also, my games seem to crash very much... (Jedi Academy, HL2)
Crysis doesn't crash that much, and CoD4 crashes a bit...

Sometimes I play for hours, sometimes it just crashes...
I read that is common for some Nvidia Cards?

78C is just fine. While playing games mine hovers around 90C with no cooling pad or fans turned up.

I have my 8600M GT 256MB DD3 overclocked to 584/855 and get the following temperature readouts:

    Idle: 56-63
    Gaming: 64-78

I use no cooling pad but I've raised the computer about 1cm from the table in the back to allow for better airflow to the air intake.

Nice, I just updated to the .28 drivers...
Temperature seems to be better now...
    I tested UT3 on max (detail 5) and 1280x800,
and the temp was steady on 74 C

Tested Crysis on High (shadows: med, shaders: med, 1024x768)
and the temp raised to 78

    Tested COD4 on max(every single thing on), 800 x 600 temp stayed on 74...

    no overclocking :)

Mine is never over 50 unless I'm gaming. It's never over 65 when I'm gaming... I'm not using notebook cooler or anything, I just elevate the back of my computer with two little boxes so the fan under the laptop can draw air in instead of trying to suck air out of a wooden desktop.

High temp recorded on mine is 93C... Or a toasty 200 degrees F.

wow, how are u guys getting those low temps. Mine runs 78C idle and high 80s while gaming on my ddr3. I replaced the ddr2 with the ddr3 awhile ago and the ddr2 was also running 70-80C idle. Maybe i should redo the thermal paste on my GPU.

I have the Asus C90S. It was easy to replace the GPU. Found a matching ddr3 card for the c90s on ebay ($90, i was really lucky since the guy accidently bought it thinking it would fit inside his dell inspiron, the card would have been $250) and all i had to do was unscrew it, put thermal paste, and rescrew the ddr3 back in. It's also running a desktop proc (e6600) which might be part of the reason why its so hot....
