Will a 8600m GT be powerful enough to run high end games with a 1900x1200 resolution or should I get a 1680x1050. Also just to make sure, the G2S comes with a 1900x1200 screen right?

The 8600M GT will definitely not be able to run modern games at 1900x1200. You'll definitely be able to run games like FEAR, Oblivion, or Supreme Commander at 1280x800 resolution. 1680x1050 may be a stretch at higher settings - mobile graphics cards, even the more powerful ones from the new generation like the 8600M GT, suffer from higher resolutions.

I recommend gaming at 1280x800. If you really want to game at 1900x1200 I advise you to get a desktop with an 8800GTS/GTX or HD 2900XT instead.

Ok, so i will not be getting a G2S but a G1S instead, G1S has 1680x1050 resolution instead.

You can get the G2S, just do not game at the native resolution of the screen.

The only reason that I would get a 1900x1200 screen would be to watch HD movies, but the laptop I'm looking at doesn't have a Blu-Ray or HD drive. Is there anyway I could still watch HD movies?

It won't be powerful enough for either of those resolutions, assuming you mean at those resolutions and with all options turned up.

No, you need a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD drive. You can buy an external HD-DVD drive for around $250 if you really want to watch in HD.

    What?
U don´t need a external or internal blu-ray or hd dvd player to watch HD-movies! There are plenty of software players who can play HD-material.
By downloading HD-movies/clips whatever from Internet a friend or dvd whatever.
And also, u Anhk don´t specify what type of HD-resolution u are planning to watch.
    U can watch 1080i and/or 720 p hd-material on an 1024 x768 screen and up. So a 1900 x1200 resolution screen is really not "all that mathers"..

You'll probably be able to get away with max settings on many games at 1280x800 or 1440x900. But to get anything higher than that will likely require you to drop the settings to medium or so.

You can watch HD video on a 1900x1200 screen (full 1080p), but unless you have an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray drive, you won't be able to watch those movies. Still, there are places (such as apple.com) where you can view short 1080p clips, but the movies will be hard to impossible to find (legally).
