I was wondering if the temperatures I get on my gpu are alright, or are too high. They usually idle around 78 degrees C and get up to 96 while running the Lost Planet DX 10 demo.

They should be alright, my friend also has the f3sv and his temps idle around 77 C and 94 C under load. However, you should invest in a notebook cooling pad the zalman nc-1000 is a great choice (i'm using it and it cools mine considerably). If it bothers you, contact asus and I'm sure they will replace it for you. Does it slow down considerably after gaming for awhile and/or display artifacts?

    crap 100C is hot.

my 8600m gt (under max load) = your 8600m gs (idle)

that seems strange to me. crank those fans.

the 8600gs does have ridiculously high clocks, could be why.

You should be able to check your threshold temp using nTune Nvmonitor. I have the same exact gfx card and my threshold is at 126.
