I just installed Rivatuner to see if my video card wasn't lower than the normal clock(I heard that powermizer can sometimes lower the clock speeds even when your laptop is plugged in). Much to my surprise the clock was higher than stock. Unless I'm mistaken the core clock should be 475Mhz, Shader Clock of 950Mhz, and a Memory Clock of 350Mhz (700Mhz). Rivatuner says the core is 513. the shaders are 1026, and the memory is 399. Is this normal for a dell laptop with this card, or is Rivatuner incorrect? could the drivers be overclocking my card automatically?

Rivatuner is incorrect. Go to system settings for forceware where you overclock and it should say 475/700. Though the memory is never off by a few for me which is different in your case the core is usualy off by 40-50 to for everyone.

Yes you have the ddr2 card like me. 475/400 are the stock clocks.

and what have you overclocked the card to? I heard values of 515/600 drifting about... is this safe?

Don't think the mem can go that high. Maybe 600/515 is possible. The max I am getting is 555/490.

mine says 475/800 in the overclocking settings. Are there any other programs that I can use to confirm/disprove the rivatuner results?

    EDIT:
waht version of Rivatuner are you guys using... mine doesn't have the option of shader clock control

The shader control has to be manually enabled in XP (by default it overclocks along with your core clock). In Vista the control is activated by default. That's on Rivatuner 2.05.

That sounds normal to me, ive never had a laptop that ran so cool as these, on MOH: Airborne max settings, the temp never hits 60c...even after playing full bore for an hour or more.

    :D

then you should really overclock. Ive read numerous times you should only be worried if you GPU temp reaches the 90's
