    Hi,

noticed a strange thing here. I'm running CS:S on Vostro 1500 with XP. With the lowest settings (no AA/no nothing) I get up to 160 fps for let's say about 7 seconds. then for another five it drops down to 70 or even 50. Does not depend that much on the spot of a map (tested it on two notebooks).

When turned 2AA/2A on I'm getting stable 70 - 90 fps with no drops. With further increase in settings does not lose that much fps (5-7).

Drivers - 163.44. Do I miss something obvious here? Why is it happening?
In the nvidia panel I have all setting set to application controlled plus single display optimization and thread optimisation set to "Auto"

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Use the 8600m GT on the highest settings, it's one of the best cards.
