I'm trying to load HD 1080p District 9, but it stops and loads on VLC player. It completely lags on media player classic.
My video drivers are maybe 5 months old, but should that really matter?
I'm using an Inspiron 1520

Can you please recommend a good DXVA codec?

I installed CoreAVC. It works A LOT better. But there still some stalling, at least the video and audio are in sync.

It only works with Windows Media Player, but I can't get the subtitles to work. Man! xD
thanks btw
edit: Nevermind. It just suddenly works now. Thank you! -

Just download the latest version of Splash Media Player, and it will tell you if your hardware support DXVA, and then show you how to enable it on the player.
And it also includes a pretty good multi core H264 decoder, so even my computer can watch 1080p material.
Not Planet Earth in 1080p, as the bird scene kills it -

EDIT: and here is a codec pack that has all the open source codecs free... http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_mega_codec_pack.htm -
i would download CCCP codec pack and use windows media player classic homecinema...
