WHich is better? On the toshiba website, it says that both can have up 2 767 mb of VRAM. The Sli costs 100 more. WHat are the benchmarks of these 2?

SLI never has 100% returns, so I would lean towards the 8700M. Even if it isn't more powerful, it will use less power and generate less heat.

The 8700M GT is a 120mhz core overclocked 8600M GT, so it that case the SLI 8600 will be better. Think of the 8700 as a 8600GTS

the sli setup will have alot more raw power, but it will be totally application dependant on how well it will scale (and driver/os dependant too) Ultimatly I would much prefer the 8700 because no sli issues, less power use and less heat created.

Agreed. Though it is to be noted that SLI can be forced in any game, even those that don't support it natively.

Check out the performance benchmarks of a single 8600GTS and two SLI'd 8600GT's at tomshardware if you want to see what kind of relative difference you can expect.
