We all heard about the 8600M GT's amazing overclocking capeabilities... However nobody has ever posted about overclocked 8700M GT's... Did anybody overclocked their 8700M GT? If yes, by how much and is the performance change noticeable?

dude, you know, the 8700M GT and Halo 3 are not things that would make any sense mentioning in the same thread, either stick to my thread's point or stop making those crappy comments...
Anyone who would like to talk about the 8700M GT's overclocking capeabilities? -
yo, my bad, yet there's a topic right below this one about 8700, and there's also a sticky one on the top. so, before talking crap, do some ****ing searching

BIG V, easy there. There is no need for such words.
The 8700GT overclocks very good. I saw a topic where the 3dmark06 score increased from 4500 to 5500 or something. Try the search function, I bet you will find it.
But the 128 bits interface makes it a bottleneck for high resolutions like WUXGA. -

WOW, thats some iprovement... 1000 3dmarks is pretty much for only increasing the clock speeds...
but the 128 bits interface really ruins the whole thing... -
p.s. i promise, i'll be a good boy and won't argue anymore -

@Notebook Solutions
with what clock did they achive this 3dmark? -
the mem was almost at 1000 and the core i think was somewhere closing in at 800 or abit above 800, i do remmebr it though

Read the sig... The 8700GT is born to OC... the problem is the drivers... they either overclock, but suck, or work well but restrict OC.
An OC'd 8700 gives a 7950GTX a run for its money at 1280x1024 and it will do that for hours (4+ of benchmarking) without showing the least hint of overheating. -

For the last time, it's not just an overclocked 8600M GT. People really need to get off that train of thought.
-
its tweaked a bit to make it able to overclock more, its a reworked 8600gt not an overclocked one
-
i think someone with a 8700GT GDDR3 512mb should do a write up on this... with different rates that are "stable for long periods of time" and dont put the laptop in any danger of overheating.
