Hey guys im just wondering what is better and if its worth paying the extra buck?
Is the 8800GTX 512MB better then the Quadro FX 1600M or the other way around?
-
The FX1600M is equivalent to the 8700M GT so the 8800M GTX is better..by far.
see here. -
pretty sure the 8800gtx is better
-
Check the Mobile GPU sticky and you'll see what performance categories each of those cards fall into.
-
unless of course you don't plan on gaming much and do mostly CAD/Modelling apps then the Quadro /w Quadro drivers might actually be better pricewise.
-
oh cool! Thx for the response.
but why on some websites does it cost more? -
Quadros being workstation class generally command a price premium and right now the FX1600M is the fastest DX10 quadro at least until the 8800M based Quadro comes out.
-
Because quadros are not as common/popular for the general public. They are specialized cards for business people which increases their price.
-
The 8800GTX will be far more powerful than the Quadro FX 1600M. The geforce series is MEANT for gaming. The quadro series is meant for graphics designing (modeling, animation) and the like.
-
The Quadro is a 8700M GT card in fact.
