Guys, I work in a testing lab and I can tell you for sure that the G92 is the new GeForce 8800GT, with 112 shader units, 16 ROP units and 256 BITS BANDWIDTH MEMORY. They are produced on 65 nm, with a less power consumption. I tested this cards and I'm sure that these will be the next generation of GPU's for the laptops. The performance is a little bit over the 8800 GTS with 320MB, but still very impressive.
P.S. They will fit only in 17" laptops.....for sure

    Kind3r , what a load of ... BS :)
The 8800M GTX will have only 96 stream processors, will be clocked identically as the 8800GTS desktop version, and will indeed have a 256 bus.

(pacat ca zici prostii :p )

Hi guys, I read the internet and I can tell you that the G92, aka the 8800GT is a desktop card. Also, it has been previously stated that the 8800 m GTX has 96 shader units. You, are wrong. On your first two sentences already, I'm not going to trust anything else you say. Alienware website showed a 15" with an 8800m GTX, now if you believe that there is an 8800m GTX in general based on the alienware leaks, then why only believe half the info... You sir, are wrong.

Do you have a specific reason to doubt the AW leaked specs?

Forerunner, check my attachements. I really doubt that AW is spreading BS :) Besides, the 8800M seems to be a clone of the 8800GTS,without it's 320 bus, which sounds very realistically.

Wikipedia has been known to have erroneus infos . ANyhow, what they have are just guesses, as AW has the definite product.
Here's to the 112 stream processors, there's nothing that could make me happier! I hope you are right in the end :D

When they actually start becoming available, I imagine we'll see them pop up on eBay, or on MXM-Upgrade, or possibly even as spare parts from the OEM's themselves.

Yeah, the post you're quoting was made before nVidia released the card. We know the specs now.

NVidia still haven't released the card. I don't know anyone that has been able to buy them, it's still all preorders. The closest date I've seen for a notebook shipping with an 8800M GTX is Dec 20th. I've only seen 1 review and that was an European review of the D901C with an 8800M GTX. I wouldn't call the card released atm, but it certainly is closer.

Yes, nVidia has "released" it. Remember that nVidia doesn't manufacture the cards. Even though ODM's haven't started shipping them to customers yet, the cards final specs have been confirmed by nVidia to the public. When the post you quoted was made, nVidia had not yet acknowledged such a card's existence, and thus we were debating various rumors on what would be card's final specs.
