I know a few people on this forum have a notebook with a 8800M GTX, I'm wondering how well it runs Crysis. I want to get one of these killer cards in my next notebook, but I want to know how well it performs in next-gen games. Can anyone with a 8800M GTX post Crysis benchmarks with all the latest drivers and patches installed? And at different settings and resolutions (I'm really curious how well Very High runs at 1280x800 resolution). Thanks guys, let's see how good the new 8800M GTX really is ;)!

Look at the 8800GTS 320 benchmarks, it should be arround that. Maybe a bit better because of the extra memory

Actually, it's based off of the 8800GT and its performance should be around the same you'd find on the 512MB 8800GT and the 512MB (yes there is a 512MB one) 8800GTS. I heard from another thread on the forums that someone was running Crysis on a 8800M GTX at 1440x900 at all high settings and got a 25fps minimum. I'm curious about how the card performs at other resolutions and settings.

Well if you look at the hardware specs, the 8800m gtx actually has the same number of stream processors as the 320mb/640mb 8800 gts. So its performance is less than the desktop 8800 gt or the 512mb 8800 gts. I would expect it to perform in the 8800gts 320mb/640mb ballpark.

From what I understand, the 320 is okay at lower resolutions (up to 1280 x 1024/1440 x 900), but at 1680 x 1050 Crysis starts to devour it. The game really wants 512mb or more.

those comparisons are all very dandy, but the real question is:

It has the exact same amount of shaders as the 8800 GTS that is 96 shaders. The 8800GT desktop has 112 shaders and higher clocks and is thus faster.

its always bad that such notebooks are so expensive. An 8800m gtx notebook will cost arround € 2200

But a desktop with same 3dmark06 score can be build with only €700.

Both of these posts are right on the mark. The 8800M-GTX should be on par or slightly faster than the 8800GTS G80 since it is based on the G92 as noted, only looking at the cards themselves. However the cards are only one part of the system. Considering that the 8800GTS 320/640 benchmarks will be done on desktop systems with faster memory and processors than are available in notebooks, you are probably getting a reasonably accurate depiction of what the 8800M-GTX will be able to do.
