    Sager NP5793, Vista Ult x64

this morning my card started locking up on any game/3d rendering that it came across. about 2 days ago i had an overheating problem that would cause me to bsod but i fixed that with some new thermal paste and a fan cleaning so i know its not crashing because of temperature.

my temp's with no load are about 40c give or take.

now i haven't changed any of the drivers before the lock-up's and they ran for about 4 months straight no problem. So maybe there is another 8800m gtx driver out there that would fix the problem but its unlikely.

started crashing on 186.81, then again on 186.03, and finally again on 179.48 after i gave up on the prospect of it being just a simple driver issue. will install the driver on sager's website later just to test.

I was told that it may be having problems switching to 3d rendering which is causing the lockups. I'm kinda leaning to it being a hardware issue myself, but are there any steps i can take to test the issue further?

any help is much appreciated, and if anymore info is needed please ask.

EDIT: just got the hardware malfunction BSoD. RIP 8800M GTX. and bye bye gaming notebook.

Lol, yes, you will need a replacement, just in case it doesn't work. It's not guaranteed to work.
