hi, i just bought the Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars... what settings do you have yours on?
currently i'm on 1920x1200 (native res.) with "Ultra High" detail.
i wanted to make it "Custom" settings and crank the anti aliasing to 8 (max) (the default for ultra high is 1)
now, the problem is, under certain landscape, it does jitter a bitter a bit under the max anti aliasing settings. but rarely...
is it worth it to max the AA settings, or just leave the things to 1?
is it normal for the 8800gts 640mb to have this jitter for this game under this settings or will a driver update improves things? (my driver is october '07 version)
i think i should mention that this is desktop, not notebook.
and... btw, does this game utilise the X-Fi sound card?
and is it compatible with Logitech G15 keyboard? (gamepanel and macro keys) what does it do specifically?

Wow thats a very specific question wobble
. Your performance with the GPU sounds about right. Cranking up the AA is the second most performance demanding setting in C&C3 next to shadows so trying to go from 2x AA to 8x AA is very demanding especially at 1920x1200 with lots of units running around. IMHO its not worth it because the only time you notice jagged edges is when your fully zoomed in and its almost impossible to play a match like that.
I don't know about the other two questions. try commandandconquer.com tech support for more answers. -
1440x900 all maxed. The CPU is usually more important then the gpu in rts games after a certain level
. -
No need to Max the AA in that game it already looks amazing they way it is.

yeah I can do 1440x900 maxed as well
-
those who all maxed theirs... what GPU do you use?
-
the one in my sig

narsnail; can you do 1920x1200 with all settings maxed out?
and with current settings, is there a certain landscape where the movements is a bit jittery?
just read your review narsnail. when the frame rate dropped to the lowest is it still smooth?
do you think my 8800 gts should be able to maxed them all out at 1920x1200?
oh, and to answer your question in that thread... i think they capped the frame rate for multiplayer gaming purposes, to sync the gameplay or something... and i monitored my cpu utilization.. .and it only uses 1 of the cpu cores... to the max.. not sure if they use multiple cores... but then again i only played tutorial and level 1 GDI. -
my monitor can only do 1440x900, and as long as it was above 20 it was very smooth. Yes ur GTS should easily be able to do this.
