Erm, what laptop are you looking into buying? A 256MB version of the card doesn't even exist as far as I know.

    oopsss...........
Nirvana what you saying is that for 8800M gtx it either come in 125MB or 512MB.
so when the notebook spec said 512MB sli that mean it will be 2 x 512MB card.

8800M GTX 512MB SLi are two 8800M GTX 512MB cards, some manufacturers put the total memory, some don't.

GTX only comes in 512, no 125. If you get 8800m GTX SLI, you are getting 2 512MB cards.

I never said anything about 125MB. there is only one version of 8800m GTX which is 512MB.
for laptops with a single 8800m GTX: alienware m15x, sager np5793
for laptops with two 8800m GTX (totally 1024MB): alienware m17x, sager np9262, dell m1730

I think sirmetman meant to say that if you get the 8800m GTX SLI you are getting 2 512MB cards, but yeah, there's only one version of the 8800m GTX, and it is a 512 MB card.

Nirvana, I think metman was referring to the OP's question/statement that the GTX comes in either 125 or 512MB versions
