This is just my curiousity going nuts, but why is it that the only laptops with an 8800m GTS are Gateway P-FX Notebooks and the HP 20'' monster HDX. Anyone have a clue why? It seems like an economical high performance card to me. Any idea why other manufacturers don't bother with it?

For example, why not put an 8800m GTS in the m15x to save some of the cost rather than going from an 8700m GT to an 8800m GTX?

Wondered this myself. Maybe Gateway and HP teamed up with Nvidia to do the 8800m GTS. The GTS/GTX both use the G92m, so maybe Nvidia just capped the Unified Shaders for a more "budget" notebook.

It still is the 2nd most powerful mobile GPU (single) on the market. (Until the 9800m GTX)

Ya that's a good point as it would also be sweet to have the 8800M GTS option in a Dell XPS (though I doubt it would fit inside of a M1530). I guess Dell/Alienware hasn't ordered any of the 8800M GTS chips from Nvidia.
