    I baked the card about a week ago after having blue squares, freezing and muddled text problems.

    After baking the card it appeared to work, no freezing, no blue squares and no random Q's and C's scattered around when booting. But the problem now is the graphics card doesn't seem to be recognized. I can boot perfectly fine into the laptop (Although I get the odd dxgkrnl.sys BSOD) but when looking through my device manager I see "NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX" but with a small yellow warning symbol next to it. When in the properties under device status it says;

    "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

    Aero also doesn't seem to be working.
    Is there any possible solution to this? Or would I have to buy a new graphics card?

    Thankyou for any replies!

    P.S: Forgot to mention this is in an Alienware m15x, if it makes a different.

    I uninstalled the drivers and had windows 7 automatically install it's own, as I restarted I now keep getting dxgkrnl.sys BSOD's, reinstalling Windows 7 now.

    baking is NEVER a FInal solution. you should expect to have to buy a new card asap. i wouldnt even bother using it until you can. you can get 3650s for about $60 on ebay to get you by until you can afford somrthing better. this is the course i would take.

    Fair enough, I thought I might be able to get it working for a couple of weeks through baking.

    Sounds like you cooked it too much maybe.

    I'd had my clevo with an 8800M GTX for almost exactly two years when the display just changed into a mix of colours. I baked the card (7 mins @ 200C) and it lasted two weeks, so the next time I did it a little longer (9 mins) and it has been fine for a few months now.

    On a side note this is part of why I won't be going nvidia next time. I'm all but done building a new desktop besides the graphics and I'll be getting a 5870 cos I don't think the 480 will last.
