Very, very big failure about this 8xxx cards,

I have a hp pavilion dv9630et laptop, and it is almost at the age of 3.

I already know that the 8600m GS in this laptop will fail, but since I bought this laptop,I used and took cared of it as it is like a new born baby,a gold or a ferrari.

I bought a zalman nc2000 cooler, used the laptop at low room tempertures, and I undervolted the cpu and cleaned the dust, applied a termal pase.

All these thing were done actually, periodically, once a year.

I was also using the 186.81 driver which is known to keep the temperture low.

So I did all I could, and also I only gamed at weekends, however this laptop failed 1 week ago,of course I replaced the entire mobo and gpu.

But what I want to say is that 8xxx nvidia card is a 8xxx card even what you do,even you run it on 30C it will fail after 1,2,3 years.

I was the last person disagreeing and beleiving that this 8 series can last long after a good usage, but hell no.

This is another proof,to let you know that even what you do,a 8 series nvidia card will fail.

I dont know much about 8800GT/X,I havent seen it failed.

Depends on the core, the 8800m GTS in mine is the later G92 so won't crap out like the older 8600 card, the GTX should also be fine.
