    Hi,

I oc'd my 9500m gs before, with decent results. You can search my threads in this forum.

But now i've beaten my previous score with this one:

If you're a 9500M GS owner, you should know this result is impressive. If you have any questions, post them below. :)

Note, any score in 3dmark is completely pointless without:
    -Processor used
    -Resolution used

We can glean your processor from your sig - T7500 2.2GHz
    No indication of resolution.
(it should be 1280x1024 for the most comparison scores)

If this is with the default 1280x800 screen that comes with that laptop, the score isn't comparable with anything but 1280x800 scores.

Attaching an external monitor capable of the default 1280x1024 can give you a more comparable score.

    Default resolution of 1200x800 yes.

And actually i made this for the other 9500m gs owners, to compare our results. :)

And note that on another topic, Undertaxxx is asking if it's time to replace his GPU b/c it's artifacting on idle.
    Full disclosure ftw. ;)

I think my 9500m GS is dying, i only bought it 2 weeks ago :(

keep getting artifacts after a short time in games, pink dodgy squares and funny colours, then it crashes, i tab to desktop, the display driver recovers, tab back in game and its alright? :( any ideas?

I guess you can push the shader clock even more. LOL.
Memory clock 500MHz should be the maximum.
We has a user here with memory clock 500MHz 9500M GS got burnt partially.
OOO yeah also remember that you're on Windows 7. Windows 7 increased the potential of GPU too.

Well, I would share something sounds stupid to you guys.
    32bit OS = lower benchmark
    64bit OS = higher benchmark
XP and 7 = higher benchmark
    Vista = lower benchmark
This is my experiment on different OSes and benchmark. It sounds stupid LOL.

    Windows Vista 32Bits
I got pwned. (according to DarkSilver experience)

and I have P8400 with 9600M GT (stock) and I'll check my benchmark later and I'll post here

Is that at 1280x1024 or at 1280x800? My 9600M GT GDDR3 stock gets about a 5000 and 5600 respectively. My processor is 2.4GHz vs your computer's 2.0GHz, though..

And there's the difference - the extra bandwidth GDDR3 has over DDR2 can boost scores by about 1000-1500 points.

With GDDR 3, you would have higher benchmark definitely.

Well, Vista 32bit will be your GPU performance bottleneck. Yet, the difference is not very huge. It ranged from 50-200points(3Dmark06 compared using XP and Vista) only.

yea, it's amazing how much ddr3 improves performance. Kind of makes you mad when the manufacturer decides to cheap out by using ddr2.

They must be saving a decent amount of money by switching to DDR2. I'm sure the people planning these things have the customer last in their mind...

I'm getting the 4650 soon, so expect more extreme results on that card :)

    It's at 1280x800 - highest I can select

I don't think P8600 2,4 GHz would give any improvement over my T5800 2 GHz in 3Dmark score tho' :(

    Still, I consider my 9650m GT a great mid-range card :D

    I hardly think so. It's still a ddr2 gpu. I wouldn't pay for that.

I concur :( I would wait until a ddr3 card is available. On the brightside, it can't be worse, only better then what he currently has.

Well, he will get same 3Dmark score than his actual record but at stock clocks this time ;-). Might flirt with the 6000 pts when OC...which is a performance for a ddr2 gpu.

Hmm, I really don't see a need to bash someone's card. I have the 9500m GS and it serves me nicely. In the same vein I could say that your cards have no comparison to a GTX 260m.

Also, Undertaxxx, if its true that your card is artifacting, I would make a notice of that so others don't try to duplicate your clocks.

actually its not artifacting, its just screen flashing at certain moments, happens less when i oc tbh.
If you want to know what i mean, i could make a video about it. :/

Also, I played at max oc, css for 5 hours straight, no problems, 80 °c max. :)

And to the others about the 4650. The ddr3 version is extremely hard to get hands on as its only used in one msi laptop. which is verry rare. Also, I'm not sure wether the ddr3 version would fit or not...
Anyway, i'm sure i could bump up to 7k with the ddr2 :)

I guess screen flashing for an overclock is normal @.@?
I got it though(sometime). But it doesn't affect the performance.
    DDR3 surely ownage.
Actually DDR4 and DDR5 what on the earth they do?

actually i got the screen flashing from the moment my notebook came back from the acer repair service (warranty) and actually then it didn't bother me cause i was happy to get my laptop back..

And i get the screen flashing even when i'm not overclocking.
