Guys, i'm having a weird issue - when I use nTune for overclocking, it doesn't let me overclock shaders, but at 600/500 3DMark2006 score goes up to 5300 from stock 4500. But when I overclock with RivaTuner, 600/1200/500 and the score is 4524. Basically, it means it doesn't do anything?
Any ideas?
I'm using official driver from nVidia, as I don't know how Dox' driver will behave in Alias 3DStudio.

nTune pushing 650/528 scores 5668. But I kinda wonder if nTune just overclocks SP without telling it?
-
no idea. but i suggest you update to nvidia system tools. it would let you overclock core shader and memory independently.

Or use rivatuner. I wonder if there is a difference overclocking with different programs
-
I'm pretty sure with ntune, the shader clocks proportionally to the core clock (usually 2x)
-
I think ntune is forcing your clocks and disabling powermizer while you had rivatuner not set to do that. With most programs I've found that powermizer won't bump to the OC clocks unless it's forced to do so.
-
nTune automatically OC's the shaders in proportion to the core, for example, I have a 33% on the core of my 9650m GT, and the shaders have automatically been overclocked 33%.
-
RivaTuner lets you unlink the Shader clock from the Core clock so you can set each independently.
-
Not sure about previous versions, but Nvidia System Tools 6.03 allows for manual adjustment of the shader clocks.

Thanx for replies, guys! Will try Systme Tools

Rivatuner allows for a more precise overclock, allowing much smaller increments than system tools.

Ntune has problems with 64 bit (bsod), good enough reason to not use it since I can't
