What kinda of temps do you achieve under full load?

Peferrably the GDDR3 version but ddr2 welcome. i heard different temps about the safe zone etc. so this is dedicated to the this card as im quite concerned what is considered dagerous so all the main temps zones are included.

    Thanks

after voting, i felt really stupid because my dv5t is known for its heating issues. no matter what game i play, prototype, crysis, gears of war, even plants and zombies, hwmonitor gives me a max temp of 88 C.......

Using HWmonitor under load my 9600m GT GDDR3 512mb gets up to around 90*C and sometimes spike as high as 96*C. That is without a notebook cooler and on a flat surface without being elevated. This is on an Acer 6930G. The temps will get that high within 5 minutes of gaming and will stay in that area for the entire time playing (few hours), game graphics settings seem to have no effect on temperatures for me. I have had no performance problems or other problems when it gets that high, not to say I'm not concerned about it though.

My 9600M GT flat lines at 95-97C with FurMark (default settings except, stability test, Xtreme burning mode, not fullscreen, 640x480). My card is a Geforce 9600M GT 256M (500/1250/800 GDDR3).

    Edit: w/ 3DMark06, max is 86C.

The one I had in my 1722 ID2 ram max at 76c during gaming and 3dmark06 and it was clocked at 625/950/1625. I know the 17'' has much better cooling then the 15.4''.

lol well dont feel so bad. im polling mine as 91-95c cos mine has hit 98c but mainly stays between 91-95c.
i asked this cos i used to game at 75-85 and cry (not literally) watching my beloved laptop exceed 80c. So i was wondering whAT is the danger zone when you should call it to manufacturer to sort it out. as i read in other threads Nvdia GTX260 peak at less than 70c and signifcantly more powerful card although i have have heard the cooling is very good in regards to this one being in the sager. but unsure in the alienware.

Mine would go to 90+ only if I oc to 700/1000/1650 (has anyone gotten a higher stable oc then that?)

My GDDR3 9600 once it a hundered , but that was only because the heatsink was totally clogged.

After undervolting the CPU my temps never go above 80, usually only ~75

I have undervolted my GPU about an hour ago (VBIOS flash) and I am about to go try it out

These are all on stock clocks BTW

Mine has gone to 87 before when playing call of duty 4 when it was overlclocked but that was before i got a notebook cooler. Now goes to 80-82 max...when playing cod 4. Undervolting processor helped to make it below 80.Really depends on what game u play.

well i gues your laptop will allow you to but hp i dont think will. its intresting. let me no. cos lol i think we all would like to sort this out. i used an air duster on mine and now it goes to around 90c.
i undervolted and i think its around 87-89c. but this is still high after all this, but i think its street fighter thats this demanding.

Did you open your laptop up

That is the best way to clean it
When you open the back cover you should see the fan(s).
Clean these using your can of compressed air, then remove these (they should be held in place by a few screws and a cable (be careful when removing))
After you remove the fan / move it aside you should see the heatsink
Clean out any visible dust clumps using a Q-tip then use the compressed air from both sides.

lol naaa i dont do opening. i no i could but if i had nothing to lose then i would but id void warranty knowing me. if my overheating is that bad then ill send it in to hp then they replace the mother board if they cant cure it. (thats what happned on my 8510w)
did you manage to undervolt gpu? what kinda temps you get now and what was it before? also are you losing performance cos of this?

Stock Clocked 9600m GT (GDDR3) usually maxed out at 70-75C (typically, depending on room temperature) after several hours of Crysis.
    Processor was undervolted
Laptop is raised, but no cooler

mine goes 95 easily on a flat surface... my cooling system is crap, i know))) However, the gfx card is the only heat generator in my machine)) it's DDR2, btw

to the above post that seems just as worryingly high. although today rather than getting 91c with under clock i got 85c today which lately never achieved this low since i had it. overally its 10c cooler although id LOVE to get under 80 with out undervolting some how.

also are these temps in the poll as standard without any cooling and undervolting cos this is what im curious about really.

The 9600M GT in my HP dv5t (DDR2) gets to 95-96*C without aid; on a Zalman NC1000, it gets to the lower-mid 80*C range.

    Temps with 3DMark06 BTW.

interesting chaz, My dv5t gets to around 86 degree's on a flat surface. But then again I believe that the earlier dv5t's used the wrong thermal pad (flaw that hp made... Mind you apply some AS5 and its a lot cooler.

But then again Hp did stuff up the thermal design on this machine

!!!, your own home made fan keeps it this low. what about if you are not using it?
Every1 suggest a cooler but i just want a laptop with nothing else to aid it. with good temps. my laptop is good and runs what i want very well. wish it voudl play all of what i like at maximum settings. but another day i will own a laptop that can run maximum on wxsga+ which id be satisfied with on maximum. (for the games i play anyway)
