    another noob question...how much stronger is the 9600m gt than the 8600m gt? is the 9600m gt as powerfull as the 8600m gt? my guess is that there is not much of a diff correct? thx

    the 9600m gt is basically a overclocked version of the 8600 mgt. Otherwise they are relatively similar.

    There are already topics that have discussed this matter. Please use the search functions such as the little box on the top right with the bold letters Search. You would find many threads such as

    that discuss differences even between ddr2 and ddr3. That thread compares cards such as the 9600m GT DDR2 and DDR3 as well as the 9500m GS etc with the 8600m GT.
