When you downscale the native resolution from your display, it looks pretty bad.
But I have read that if you downscale to exactly half the size (or quarter) it wont look as bad.
On the desktop nvidia control panel, you can (or could) define custom resolutions, but not in notebook drivers.
Has anyone managed to do this on a notebook? I tried Custom Resolution Utility but laptops with switchable graphics are not supported.
Why would I want to do this? To downscale demanding games.

It's hit or miss, depending on the laptop, and some Intel drivers do have custom resolution options, so you can run at lower res. If it is not in your Intel control panel then download the latest Intel driver from Intel's website and then uninstall the Intel GPU driver, even use DDU if you have to. Then the new drivers should install fine and include custom resolutions.

I guess it also depends if the game (its 3d engine) support this resolution.
(It could be also because Windows doesnt give any option for a lower resolution than 1024x768) -
