How much faster would the 9700GTS be over the 9700GT in real world settings. What I mean by that is, how many more frames per second would i get when play GRID on high settings or Crysis on Medium settings?

By the way, that's from notebookcheck, so you might want to take it with a pinch of salt. :p

Id take that with a truck of salt.. no game settings shown, look at Supreme commander.. pfft Desktop Processors with Desktop cards gets a run for thier money to run @ 3/4 the FPS shown.

ET: Quake wars? the game runs 60+ FPS on any mid high card, without telling the AA,AF levels, and if soft particles are used, its really worthless.

To be honest, I find it hard to believe that the 9700M GTS is closer to the 9700M GT than the 9800M GTS/8800M GTS. It would mean that the 9700M GT is freaking high clocks. 725mhz on the core with GDDR3 2000 or something

I've actually been tossing up between buying the new Toshiba Qosimo x305 or f55 which come with a 9700gts card and the Asus G50 which comes with the standard 9700gt. I thought that the x305 would blitz the Asus G50. However, I read a couple of reviews on best buy where two guys claimed that although the toshiba was a higher spec machine on paper, that it's graphics(9700gts) were lacking and that they had swapped their Toshibas for the Asus with the 9700 Gt which proved to be actually faster for gaming. I don't see how this is possible....???

According to all the comparison charts the GTS model is more inline the the 8800gts where as the vanilla 9700gt is really just a slightly faster 8700gt.....

One has to remember that the video drivers for these new cards are probably still immature, as the card just came out. Once they have been improved upon, you will probably see where the 9700M GTS will improve better than the GT model. God Bless :)

Tha and these are "reviews" by people who very well might think turbo buttons make things go faster...

The 9700 GT is a good card, but it is basically an OC'd 8700 GT.

The GTS has 50% more shaders and a 256-bit memory interface.
This should counter its lower clock rates... especially when you push the shader clock a little.

It's a good comparison, who cares what options are enabled. It's a good relative comparison.
