When I overclock to around 730/980/1740, and i play a game or run 3dmark 06, it crashes and the nvidia display driver fails. what is up with this nvidia display driver failing like this? i know a few people who have much higher clocks than me, up to 20mhz more and they dont get crashes. whats the deal?

Not every card from the same model/core has the same OC margin... some have more than others...

And it´s not only on GPUs, on CPUs is the same thing...

It´s just the lucky game! ;)

some overclock better then other's just google for good o/c's and you should get a good idea. like me i got lucky with my 2600HD DDR3 i have it running at XT speed's.i also got lucky on my T8100 with a vcore at 0.9625 to put it in short term "Your mileage may vary"

ok i was sitting here thinking. try these o/c setting 700/970/1700 and see if that work's. if it does move them up by 5mhz and see what happends run furmark which will max out your video card and it will give you your max temps

Even when your overclocking i dont think that's the problem... The "driver has stopped working" is a known issue with several drivers with or without overclocking... Just try other drivers and check stability...

JosePerez Bro I had my SLI1 stolen last week and got the X305. When I benchmark the x305 it scores 7300 and my last score with the x205 with the 175.19 drivers gave me 7575. But comparing the gaming experiences and graphics performance between the two is like a whole different level. The x305 rocks and 3dmark06 isn't reliable as far as saying how good the performance of games will be. Funny thing is I used to defend 3dmark06 as a legit point of reference for game performance. Go get your notebook stolen and then get the x305.

Lol i would if i could... But since i don't live in the states it's really hard to buy it from here... I think i'll stay with the sli for another year and then i'll go through the hassle of buying a new one... ;)

However, just as info, how much is the diff in performance? I mean, how many fps you were getting with the sli in games like COD4, Assassins Creed, Bioshock, all maxed out, and how many you get now?

Yeah, I have the stock Toshiba drivers. They give the best performance from what I heard. But my clock speeds now are: 725/975/1725!! And 3dMark06 still crashes with driver error cause clock speeds are too **** high for some reason. That is the only obvious answer to this issue, where it freezes and the Nvidia display driver stops working. Then it recovers and my clock speeds are now 168/100/337. it downlocks CRAZY! The only good thing I can say about my gpu is that is stays cool, maxes at around 153 overclocked at 700/950/1700.

Cause, what I am trying to do is to get the highest 3dmark06 and vantage scores possible to beat all x305 users. lol. :D

3dmark06 is only a number or you want to get a e-peen going on. 3dmark06 to me is nothing but when you play games is when it matter's
