To Manic Penguins
I am trying like hell but the closest I got was 14890, but anyways I easily play every game out there, even Crysis on all high settings.
-
IKAS, try ntune?
-
What's up with that john? Why havent ya ditched the 6860?Oh..and I ran across one of your posts telling me to beat that 3dmark06 for the GTX.. I believe I have.
-
What exactly is ntune? Is it for overclocking GPU's and CPU's?
I am sort of new to this stuff and I don't want to fry my system.If it is what would be a safe level to start off at?
I also got a new NZXT Cryo laptop cooler to keep things at a safe level. -
Does anyone have non-synthetic benchmarks of the 9600M GT (DDR3) vs 9700M GT?
I've read that the 9600 can be OC'd to 9700 speeds. Would that increase temps and decrease battery life? -

I hope to have my dual 9800m gtx sli by the end of this week
other specs :
Q9550, 3x320Gb raid0, 2x2Gb DDR2 800Mhz dual channeled.
Any benchmark requests? -
Can't wait to see some numbers for the GTX Sli.
Cogratulations! -

Hi Ikas V, I edited a reaction in a previous post, but you might have not noticed it. I'll repost it here :
edit :

Basicly it adds the ability to change the Core and Memory clocks/frequencies, control the GPU fan (if you have one), perform stability tests and Tune System, which I have been told to avoid.
Heres a screenshot of the page you will use most frequently out of them all:
nTune
What temps are you getting, are you overclocking at all? -
No overclocking yet Manic, but it seems very appealing.
I will give the nTune a shot.
What's a safe level to start off on?
These temps were taken about an hour into surfing the net.
Justanotherguy be well I do have a Q9650 and Crysis plays really well on high settings, barely any slowdown in SLI even during some heavy action.That's using 1920x1200 resolution.
I don't know if Crysis is PhysX but I have tried UT3 and to tell you the truth I can't really tell a difference, using the original drivers(176.06) UT3 already played very good and after installing 179.92 drivers it's pretty much the same it does seem to run smoother but maybe it's all in my head. -
If you do want to overclock then you will need to get the max temps at the usual clocks first, run the most demanding game you have, all maxed out for ~30 minutes. Report back here with your results. This will determine whether or not it is a good idea (or not) to overclock.
Two very helpful guides can be found here and here -
Let's see your monsters unleashed..

The supplier told me I'll receive it by thursday/friday. If there any specific programs you want me to run, I can make sure i'll have by the time i get the notebook. I've never really done benchmarking (did a 3DMark03 once on my acer ferrari) therefor i do'nt know what might be interesting to show.
-
3Dmark06,3Dmark Vantage and maybe some game benchmarks for comparison
Those would be good for starters -
Dual 9800gtx? This will certainly be interesting.

yeah I'm very curious myself. I havent found any benchmarks on the dual 9800m gtx sli so far. Are there any available?
-
Great question..I didnt know they were supported yet. Where you ordering from?
-
Sagernotebook.com has them available... just came out last week
-
ohh..i see. nam3, you mind posting your benchmarks? Thats similar to the unit I was going to purchase, there in your sig.
-
justanotherguy_be Notebook Enthusiast
Ordered it @ notebooktotaal.nl (netherlands).
@E-wrecked, hows that 1066Mhz DDR3 ram doing? In which scenarios does it give advantage over 800Mhz memory? I've read it comsumes 30% less watt, can you notice that? -
de ja vu... I thought I did this already, but forgot it was in the 9800M GTX thread in Sager/Clevo. Here is what I posted
-
Very nice scores.. You overclocked it yet?
-
no... i r scared >.<
hehe, and I dont know what software to use. -
yeah, them other gtx's we're using sli so i grabbed the ones in your close proximity. -
That my old score, hopefully with the new hardware coming I can hit it up to at least 16,000ptk or above. -
justanotherguy_be Notebook Enthusiast
great scores
-
Very nice scores..
Good luck with the new hardware too!
-
been adding RAId to the 7811FX.. Anyone wanna post new benchmarks? Anyone? Hello? Connect the dots, la da di da.. *bump*
-
It´s pretty amazing looking at these 3D Mark 06 scores and desktop with a Core2Duo 2.93GHz, 2GB 833MHz Ram and a 8800 GTX at 612/1512/950 scores around 13000 in 3D Mark 06 and that´s with a single GPU.
-
I agree.. Maybe I need an external enclosure for a desktop GPU, instead of the extra HDD
What ever happened to the ATI XGP, by the way? http://ati.amd.com/technology/xgp/index.html
-
E-wrecked hey man what happen to your x305? I bought one because of your overclock post and the q guy, forgot his name that took one apart. Well I was looking forward to more posts of your experimenting with it, hope you still have it. And also what drivers have you tried on it besides Toshibas? I want to squeeze more performance from the 9700m gts. The gateway seems to be a nice notebook too.

-
Weighs lots more than my XPS M1730
However my 8800m GTX SLI still outperforms my desktop 8800GTX in games
-
I thought you couldn't do RAID in a 7811-FX
Also I am trying to use nTune to try and change the GPU settings, but when I press apply it reverts to the stock speeds, any ideas for how to set them to run faster? -
nTune 6.02 can only successfully overclock the shaders. Our only option at this point is the BIOS flashing.

1: C:\Users\johnksss\AppData\Local\NVIDIA Corporation\nTune\Profiles
(your user name and not mine of johnksss)
2: you should see some profiles in there. right click on one of them and click open with notepad.
3: it should look something like this:
[BoardConfiguration]
Version=200
CPU=6fb
MCP=65535
SPP=65534
GPU=NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280
[ClockSettings]
FSBMHZ=0
AGPMHZ=0
PCIe2MHZ=0
CpuCore0Mul= 8.0
CpuCore1Mul= 8.0
CpuCore2Mul= 8.0
CpuCore3Mul= 8.0
CpuCore4Mul= 0.0
CpuCore5Mul= 0.0
CpuCore6Mul= 0.0
CpuCore7Mul= 0.0

CPUFAN=-1
AUXFAN1=-1
HTCPUSPPVOL=-1
HTSPPMCPVOL=-1
NFORCEFAN=-1
AUX1FAN=-1
AUX2FAN=-1
GPUFAN3D0=41
4: see where it says:
GPUCOREMHZ=602
GPUMEMMHZ=1107
GPUSHADERMHZ=1296
try changing these settings here. "example"
GPUCOREMHZ=620
GPUMEMMHZ=900
GPUSHADERMHZ=1500
5: then click "save as"
overclock1.nsu
6: then double click the file you just made. it will load the profile you just edited
7: use gpuz to see if it took.
the shader has to be at least twice the core clock or it wont take as well.
