hi, can i get performance reviews on 9800 gt, 9800 gts i mean i know that 9800 gt is better but how much better, can someone tell me how many fps in crysis can i expect with these cards, and how good are they overall ? and how do they look facing 8800 gtx Sli ?how big is the difference ?

the whole reason im asking is cuz im buying a new gaming laptop, and im realy into Gateway P-7811FX (9800 gts) but then i saw Sager NP5793 (Clevo M570RU) (9800 gt) and now im confused ..
If someone could solve my problem id be SO happy..

    thanks ;)

thanks, so what i saw is that there isnt much difference, between 9800 gts and 9800 gt or even the 9800 GTX.. the fps difference is 1-2 in crysis and 2-8 in HL2:epTwo, wouldn't you agree ?

Yes, the difference wouldn't really be that noticeable...

There will be a noticeable difference between a gtx and a gts.

notebook check isnt the most reliable place for benchmarks.

    Answer bellow

But yeah notebookcheck isn't the most reliable source. Either way the 9800mGTS is a very powerful card and will suit gaming needs for a long time. The 7811FX is a great rig and really it comes down to whether you want a 15.4in or a 17in. Personally I have a 17in as its what I love to game on, and I have my 12in tablet for times like plane trips and taking notes in a cramped board room at work.

Im assuming your referring to my setup. In my sig are the 17in and 12in I have, both are awesome for what I use them for.

Please note that Notebookcheck is not always accurate... they usually have engineer samples and beta equipment to test with. .... so "grain of salt"

But I do agree the 9800M GTS is pretty bang for the buck for those that do not want the highest end stuff. :)

yes but can anyone clear up HOW MUCH BETTER is the gts vs. gt!!!!! geez. lol my problem is do I get the Sager 9800gt or the gateway 9800gts, only thing stopping me is what I'll have left in the bank after getting either, and my credit card limits ;)

If I was spending my money I would try and save a few bucks and get a sealed or refurbed P-6860FX from ebay ($750-900).

    Why?
    1. The 8800 GTS and 9800 GTS are almost identical.
    2. This card can not push enough pixels to really play modern games smoothly at 1920*1200. So you will have to scale games like Crysis and that looks bad.
    3. Montevina is not worth paying a premium for unless it is full bore (Penryn-6 with 25 WAtt TDP and 1066 MHz RAM).

So I say get the P-6860FX with its 1440*900 screen and 8800m GTS and buy lots of games with the $$$ you save.

    was that on liquid nitrogen?

how is it possible to get such a high score, even with the extreme CPU and OC?

    it only has 64 SPs

Well 96 sp vs 64 sp´s. I would go with the 9800m GT more future proof.

They're both great cards. I'd go with whichever system is more cost effective for your needs.

Don't forget to count the Blu-Ray in the Sager!

The 7811 has been discontinued for the new P-7801u. It's basically discontinued because Gateway is trying to put out a slightly better laptop for a slightly worse value in an effort to make more money (the 7811 is still better bang for the buck if you can get a hold of it). Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents.

Yup, but i think it's really the shaders that makes the difference
