A NBR Team Fortress 2 Server.....

Ok, so now we have two "NBR" servers, a TF2 server dedicated entirely to us, and a CS: Source server which we all play in. As well as a COD 4 server we can use, but COD4 is rarely played.

TF2 is played the most.

We have games every friday, saturday and wednesday at 9 pm eastern time for those eastern people. Pablo will be setting up times for the western. But those three days are the days that you want to get on and play with the rest of NBR.

The TF2 server is compliments of Unknown. It is also admined by me and Forerunner. If you want to get in, and it's full, just message one of us that are in the game, and we will make space for you. NBR people have first rights.

Where are you based yoyo? I'm in Northern Ireland and I can imagine we'll have players from all over, so it's gonna have to be a good server for all types!

 

I'm in Tennesse, USA.... I doubt i should be the one hosting the server too often, i'm sure someone has a much better internet connection than me, but mine is pretty good.


This will be a great way for us to get off the forums and actually "socialize" with one another.

plus i'll probly in and out of game, iam trying to adjust my AA settings better with TF2 for some reason TF2 uses more resources or something then DOD and CS: Source

 

I'd give you guy's a few games if we can get a stable server up and running Although i'd guess if the server is across the pond we'll have some ping issues

I'm in. Name's HokeyPokey, but unfortunately I can't run the server since my connection won't be fast enough and I'm in Canada.

 

I checked my connection. It's great. According to gamespy, i can host 60+ people on my server....

 

Im down for it but I rarely play tf2 because somehow I just can get into it. The only map that makes it fun is toy fort. But if there is a NBR server ill play.

Yikes... there was a time during May/June where I would always go and keep playing it, and i'd log in about 30 hours a week.
Now, Steam isn't even installed yet because of the reformatting.
Even though I really shouldn't with all the classes, maybe some "light" TF2

i wouldnt mind playing on the NBR server. it would be really cool if it was a dustbowl server or dustbowl/gold rush server since thsoe are the only two maps i find fun.

pretty small world, you guys are listing your names and i recognize a few of them from various TF2 servers.

my question is, why bother having an NBR server when we could just go find an empty server to play on? i know of a goldrush/dustbowl/gravel pit server that is just starting out and it could use some help getting popular. If anyone is interested i could grab the ip when i get home. It would probably be much easier than having to find someone to host a server, then tell everyone about it, then fill it. Having a fixed, permanent server would probably be the best bet if this is going to be a success.

 

Alright let me know. I'll create an event for our group when its up and ready.

I think because NBR wants to keep control of the server and do as a social event between us, plus I think it's best if the admin controls are in an /NBR member's hands if we are playing.....

Heck, we can just post up an event, one of host (i'm sure a 1.5 mb connection can host all of us, and a 1.5 mb in the US seems to be the most common) for that event time etc and just do stuff small things like that if we can't really find a dedicated server for NBR.

Hey guys, I am going to join the TF2 group when I actually can hit Join and not encounter an error lol. My SteamID is Jstn7477. BTW I have a 20/5 Mbit FiOS line to my house, but I guess I will need to get my Athlon X2 2.6 up and running again and my dad will probably get mad when his internet lags lol. I will see about it.

Ok, whenever NBR plays the server MUST have the following information, or it will be illegit. Why? So we can always find the server without trouble, and it'll just be easier.

Anyone know the console commands for TF2? Such as kick?

Anyone that abuses the server, in or not in an admin position, will be banned from playing... somehow. I dunno. lol

 

I like the map Orange_x3 and I play on it all the time. We should have Chaz be our TF2 server admin lol.

is it normal to get low frames on gold rush? or is my cpu too weak?

 

What's your specs? My frame rate isn't effected by the level.

 

Is the community for this game very large? Looking to pick up the Orange Box once my laptop arrives.

 

personally i dont think this will work / last very long if we dont get a dedicated server.

And, how many people are actually planning on playing on this server? password protecting it isnt really worthwhile unless there are enough people to actually fill the server, otherwise i would just let anyone join. More people = more fun, even if they arent from this forum

 

t5550 1.83 GHz , 4gb ram, 8800m gts.

 

WE are probably looking at 10-15 people. So yeah we won't have enough for a match.

 

I'm sure we all have other friends not part of NBR that we could invite....

But yeah, I say that we should take off the password protection if we ever host. Also, I say it'd be best to have a map vote every time we change maps so people are happy more often.

 

Hmmm... that should be more than enough... perhaps it's your connection that's affecting you? Or maybe your driver?

 

i used the mat_queue_mode 2 command and my frames went wayy up. i was getting 15-20 fps during heavy fighting now it never goes under 40.
