    Hey very quick noob question that I came up dry when googling.

    If you have a slave mxm card, can you run that as a single primary card or would you need to flash it with a master BIOS?

    In my experience you don't need to reflash it so long as it's properly working

    But generally should a slave mxm card work as a single card?

    I am trying to put a newer card in my alienware. My alienware supports mxm Type III without the HE tab. I see some slave cards for sale but didn't know if I could run them as a single card or if they needed a master bios.

    it depends on the model. but yes you have to flash the card to slave or master. cards are identical in hardware.
    You may also need a crossfire cable and heatsink.
