A TF2 Tournament for all you NBR Users

Hey all, I'm thinking about starting a TF2 tournament. I'll soon be buying a server, and I was wondering who would want to play. The entry price would be $6 per person, and the teams would be made up of 6 people each. You could either sign up with 5 other people as a team, or sign up and be randomly assigned. For this tournament to work, 10 teams would be needed.

Prize: $300.00 to be split up among the team/$50 per person

Would it be "Team Entry" based?

 

No, because even with splicing the first and second place prizes together, I didn't think a team would want to split $275 - it would be $55 per person at the most.

 

Ah, I see. I'm stupid, I just now noticed the "top 7 players" part.

 

TF2 just doesn't work well for single winner tournaments. To put it simply without going into any long explanations, it's just too team based.

 

Would anybody be interested if it was team-based, second prize was eliminated, and the grand prize was kicked up to $300?

 

Thats cool offering a prize too bad I suck at TF2 lol and only played a few times over the course of time since its release.

Problem I see with TF2 is top players are going to be the ones with the most points right? That means those who play support roles or less damage may not get much a chance. Not sure on this as I do not play much but seems like it may work that way.

 

If it was structured in teams of 6 instead, the entire team would get $50 per person, and it wouldn't depend on points.

 

I'd be in. Even though I suck at TF2.

You could make a team of your own. Judging by the response here, though, I don't think this tournament will happen.

I dont think the people here have enough people that are good to play with and have the money to start a tournament. I mean I got start up a pay pal account and what not... O since school is starting for me i won't have time where was this idea in the summer time?!

 

yah, when does this thing plan on going down? i wont be able to get a team ready for another week at least (wont have much time for anything for the rest of this week)

 

As soon as enough people signed up, it would go down. No definite date yet.

 

I'm definitely interested, but I'm going to be out of town for three weeks so I most likely won't be able to participate.

 

What if we just did it a free tournie with no prize? That'd appeal to more people, since a lot of us are broke....
