A crash I have never seen before while playing Mirrors edge....could it be the game?

Ok this is really really hard to explain...I guess I can say I was playing Mirrors edge then all of a sudden the game froze. I pressed the numblock key on my keyboard to see if computer had crashed and sure enough it did.... But this is the odd part.

Instead of just staying frozen or something it responded by giving me a black screen with a white blinking light at the top left hand corner...

I then clicked on the numb lock key and the light on keyboard turned on showing it was getting the command...

I then proceeded to restart the machine.

This is the first time this kind of crash happens but the second time my computer crashes in less than 2 weeks since I got it back from repair.

I don't know if this is all just a bad coinsidence or if hardware can actually fail due to software...

Ether way I have no idea what a crash like that means so if some one could tell me what that kinda crash indicates It would really help.

    Thanks

Also if some one had this problem while playing Mirrors Edge or any other game let me know.

What you just described sounds to me more like a problem with the GPU itself, which could have caused a driver crash. Usually these crashes are heat related, but not always.

What GPU do you have? What laptop?

    What laptop do you have?
Could be a failing GPU, most if not all of the 8600's are faulty.
My bet is on a driver crash.

have you applied the patch? I remember mine used to freeze sometimes until I applied the patch (which actually fixed the physx that caused it to freeze)
