First of all does anyone have any experience with Malibal? I'm liking the price of a Satori I have specd out.

I'm having to save money where I can so I am having to decide between a Nvidia 485m or the 6990m. As I understand the performance will be close but I have heard that Nvidia is better then AMD with driver updates. I have used Nvidia exclusively for years in all my desktops and have had excellent luck so I'm leaning that way.

I hope to play BF3 on this bad boy.

    Thanks

The Radeon 6990m is significantly faster than the GTX 485m. Your confusing the GTX 485m with the GTX 580m.

Driver support for each should be fine.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not confusing the 485 with the 580, the 580 is out of my price range. I had heard that AMD was not as quick with their driver updates and when I expressed this to a sales guy he suggested that the 485 would give similar performance for the same price.

I just found this comparison site and it does look like the 6990 is quicker, I think some of the spec I read confused me a bit.

Both of them pretty much release new drivers on a monthly basis.

69 90m **IS** significantly faster than the GTX 485m. The 69 70m and GTX 485m are nearly neck and neck. 6990m is about same as 580m.

I have a Malibal. I love it and would definitely do business with them again. 6990m is faster than GTX 485 even the picture you showed says that. haha

I found the data after I posted and its always god to here from people who have used them. Heck I may just break the bank and gram a 580. :D

Thanks for the input on Malibal, I had a terrible experience with Ailenware before they were bought out so I'm a bit gun shy about dropping 2k with a small company.

Which BTW is pretty much gimmicks and not needed. PhysX is only used in 2-3 games a year... Overall 6990M is the best card out in the market. The 580M just loses when it comes to price.

I don't see how 10% is "significantly". The 2720QM is significantly faster than the 2630QM?
