ATI Overdrive was working great in my GX740, when I used it for the MR5870.

I didn't have to look for any myself, the Overdrive tool would naturally stop when there was an artifact, and would report that the Overclock was unstable.

    Now,

I also use an 5830 in my Envy, but for some reason, CCC no longer has overdrive function enabled..?

Does anybody know a good artifact tester that could be used to test stability in overclocking GPU cards?

I tried ATItool.. ( Doesn't work in windows 7.. ) Ati Tray tools(instant crash), and I don't want to strain my eyes in detecting for artifacts, are there any tools that would self-report for artifacts?

    Thanks!

Well you have furmark that shows artifacts if you overclock too high or your voltage on the GPU is not enough for that overclock for example.
