GTA: San Andreas, Rome Total War, Medieval 2 Total War (RTW has way better gameplay, while M2TW's graphics is a bit better), C&C 3 TW, Rainbow Six Vegas.

Hmm. I had fun with the Escape Velocity series back in the day, but that's pretty old school. There was also a game called SeaDogs that I was hardcore addicted to, but that as well is quite old. I guess it depends on how important graphics are to you and how easily entertained you are...

I recommend Call of Duty. That game is really fun on single player and the graphics will be pretty good (if you get CoD1). Plus they are pretty cheap and some come bundled with the expansion pack (which btw is extremely hard to beat even on easy :p).

Far Cry. It's a moderately interesting plot, a wide variety of action, and runs on a lot of different hardware. Visuals are still decent given its age, and a ****ing awesome sequel (Crysis) is coming soon.

Quake 4 was good too, it took me a while to beat it. Needs some decent hardware to be enjoyable though.

I'm playing around with Flatout 2 right now, it's like a demolition-derby type of racing in a NFS style (but without cops).

The game was launched in mid '06, and actually runs great on a GMA 950, X200M and Go 7200 (tried it on all 3) at 1280x800 "Very High Texture" settings.....

Was shocked, and it even looks good (to me). :D

It wasn't anything revolutionary. Decent for passing the time if you really wanted something to play and really wanted to play a Diablo-type game, but it's not the next Diablo.

Someone asked this recently and I mentioned Operation Flashpoint. Cause at least someone in this thread should mention it. Its been one of the best FPS strategy games in the past seven years.

    Please remember my hardware!!!

But, i really need games that are easy to play in Cars/planes/trains. Really, games that dont require a mouse/gamepad.

Solitaire works. I'd suggest Minesweeper but a trackpad won't allow you to move fast enough to get a decent score.

Other than a few FPS, I can't think of any games offhand that you can play without a mouse...

I'm going to suggest Prince of Persia: Sand of Time and Prince of Persia: Two Thrones. I'm having lots of mixed feelings about those two games. Many many people hate it, and many people love it to death. I'm one of those who hate it while loving it... I don't know what it is about the game that makes it like that.

Try Trackmania Nations ESWC (free). It an arcade-racing game time trial with tons on maps and is visually stunning.

I'm going to recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R. This game really doesn't get much attention but its a great game for around $40.

It has issues with Vista though (like alot of other games).

Has the best light renderer I've seen in dx9c. The shadows and light in this game are great. It has full dynamic light + sun shadows. The thunder storms in this game are top notch. The atmosphere is really brooding and somewhat scary.

    The gun mechanics/play is awesome.

I do have to mention that I'm running the Float32 mod for this game. The author wrote his own shaders and optimized them. Kudos to him.

    EDIT: Removed Screenshots

    What turned you off?

It fell short of its goals and has annoying fences that block in the zone, plus some bugs, but they are being fixed in upcoming patches.

Did you get the laser that hits every target on the screen? You can kill Saddler in one hit. In fact you do not even need the missile launcher it just shoots him in half.

Just the slow pace of play. And the bugs, and the part where you have to go out of your way to get to the objective.

seeing as though you already own a GCN emulator im sure you are no stranger to SNES, NES and SEGA emulators. those can all be played without a mouse and many of them are easy to pick up and play.
