Just discovered that this great reviewer site also have VBIOS catalogue for nearly all notebook GPUs. People should do everyone a favour and email Techpowerup their overclocked VBIOS as well their stock vbios for GPUs you can`t find. That way we increase the database for future use. The overclock vVBIOS are especially scarce. That way we don`t have to ask each other for various VBIOS with this and that clock but just go to the site and find it

    TechPowerUp VGA BIOS

    Examples:

GTX 680M - Clevo, Dell, MSI

GTX 580M - All OEMs, also overclocked VBIOS there

HD 7970M - Dell and Clevo

    :)

    No one interested?
This could be our future storage for stock vbios and overclocked vbios...

Its probably very easy to upload your vbios too

It doesn't tell you the voltages. I think that's very important no?

IDK, it doesn't list the voltages (at least the ones I saw) and I'd be really weary of using a vbios that someone uploaded to a website without any feedback. Something goes wrong and you've got a bricked card. I feel safer using the ones from reputable dudes like svl7.

It would be cool to have a really long thread that cataloged all the different amd/nvidia vbios' with detailed info and feedback.

I sent them a message asking if we could add voltage to the name of the VBIOS :)

Easy searchable through a site with a search engine specifically for VBIOS vs going through a forum with many threads looking for a VBIOS for this and that GPU.

I`d love to see a thread dedicated for VBIOS with a clean post where all the VBIOS are listed for our GPUs though. I`m just wanting a service like that, since its highly needed in my opinion

This maybe an easy convenient way to spread a very malicious virus. I wouldn't dare download something like that from TechPowerUP (isn't this the website that constantly leaked bs about Kepler?) AND install it.. much more safer from friends in the forum imo.

The thing about TechPowerUp`s database is that you have to submit it using GPU-Z which only allows working VBIOS`es to be uploaded. Next to each VBIOS you can also check details for it, what stepping create what clock. But no voltage. I`ve emailed them asking if they could add voltage information too :)
Someone gotta be the test object and cross their fingers while trying a new vbios anyway wether its from TechPowerUp or any other forum. There is always a risk with flashing your GPU or downloading a file from the internet.

Techpowerup is along with Anandtech the most reliable reviewer sites btw. But Techpowerup plus 95% of the other reviewer sites also make their income on posting news and rumors about upcoming tech. Blame the source for the wrong information, not the sites reposting it.

Trust me none of the big, well-known tech review sites are very objective nor can they be because they are all compensated in some shape or form by the hardware makers of the products they review. That's why you never see a site like AnandTech really ripping a product. Instead, they'll say so-and-so disappointed us or so-and-so could've been better. Take it all with a grain of salt because sometimes what's left unsaid is more telling that what's said.
