    Hello all:
I'm going to get a new laptop. I do an enormous amount of traveling for my job in airplanes and my operational concept for this laptop is that I will be playing a lot of Civilization V on these trips. Since I'll be on airplanes a lot I'm not going to get a full gaming laptop (too bulky) so I've settled on two Samsung contenders, one of which has a 1920x1080 screen with a GT 650M, one of which has a 1600X900 with a GT 640M. Does anyone know if the 650M would be able to drive Civ V at a reasonable fps at 1920X1080? That's my make or break question for the purchase and I haven't been able to find the answer yet (assume power is no problem, I have adapters for those aircraft 'cigarette lighter' AC power ports).

Anything will be fine. It's a turn based game. The few animation it does have, really doesn't need all the eye candy, it's unnecessary.

The 650M would be fine. It's a much better GPU than the 640M.. About a 20% performance bump.

I play a lot of it already, and at a lower resolution. But I figure as long as I'm getting a new computer might as well make sure it can play it well.

Either will play it well. I used to play it a ton on my Vostro w/6630M at medium settings at 1080p. The 650M is about twice as fast, if not more, than my card. The 640M is still good, but I'd get the one w/650M if only for the 1080p screen.
