Yea... so i have this graphics card.

It idles at about 76-78 C (seems high to me?)
Under a stress test it went to 96C (I can almost boil water on it? wtf)
When i play WoW, my pc crashes, i can only assume this is the GPU overheating massively as the bottom of the notebook is extremely hot.

This normal for the graphics card? (doubt it) and are there any solutions?
I tried the Undervolting, didnt have much effect.. though im not 100% sure i did it right.

    Thank in advance.

What kind of surface are you putting it on?

Also, make sure there is plenty of space underneath the notebook so it can 'breathe' and ventilate.

^^^ Yes. I would choose the 174.74 driver since it's a little newer ;) and seems to have better support, performance, and IQ out of the 174.xx series.

Don't forget to uninstall your current driver though. And maybe run a driver cleaner afterwords (something like Guru Sweeper or Driver Cleaner Professional 1.5).

you choose either one i just the 169.04 because that's the only driver i can overclock with
but the 174.74 is very stable and gives great performance.

I think the 174.74 is a bad driver to pick. I dont think its stable enough atm. It conflicts with vegas 2 and i heard it conflicts with couple of other games.Try a driver that very stable and check your temps. See if your fans are running at normal speeds. Check the loads on your pc whats idling on it. Also see if you add house fan to it if becomes cooler.

It is also possible your system is full of dust and/or lint. Try spraying some compressed air into the vents (while the computer is off) and see what comes out. It is possible your vents are being blocked from providing proper airflow.

You can do a basic uninstall of previous Nvidia drivers by going to the add/remove programs section of your control panel (press the start button and then control panel and then add/remove programs).

You will then have to restart (after uninstalling 'Nvidia drivers'). Then you can install the new driver 174.74.

Some people like to run things like Driver Cleaner, but using the built-in uninstall works fine for me.

uhh yeah it sounds like a physical problem more than a driver problem.

    dust is a likely culprit.
