    A200 Graphics Card

    hey guys
    i have a toshiba satellite a200.
    it said it had a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300, but not long ago i reformated my computer and now it says its a mobile intel(R) 965 express chipset family and it wont play some of my games.

    Do i have to do somthing to get it back to that or what?

    That sounds strange. Do you have an unkown device in Device Manager, or something that says "generic vga"? If so, download and install the appropriate geforce driver from the Toshiba website and see if the 7300 is detected....

    Go to the Toshiba website and download the latest driver for your graphics card. Install it and everything should be back to normal.

    in the device manager it just has mobile intel(R) 965 express chipset family twice. ill download the latest drivers and let yous know

    ok i downloaded a driver for the geforce and it said it was sucessfully installed. but when i check it still says mobile intel(R) 965 express chipset family. the laptop was origionally on windows vista but i used the toshiba recovery cd and made it go down to xp. do i have to uninstall the intel driver 1st?

    Go back into the Device Manager and expand Display Adapters. Is the GeForce card listed there? Also, is there anything listed with a question mark next to it?

    The gma965 ia the x3100. Why don't try installing the nvidia drivers and see what happens?

    Under display adapters it still says mobile intel(R) 965 express chipset but it has it there twice. And no ? in there. And yes i have tryed installing the latest drivers but nothing seems to happen. Do i have to uninstall the intel graphics card first?

    Are you sure there is a Go 7300 on there? I didn't think the Toshibas had some sort of hybridized dual graphics system back then, as I've never heard of an GMA X3100 and Go 7300 together.

    Did you ever by chance send this unit in for service? If so, they likely replaced the system board with the wrong one.
