OK, so as of yet I haven't heard any news of whether Ubisoft will be including any horrible DRM like they did in AC2. Hopefully they'll follow brotherhood and keep it fairly nice for us.
The question is, should we find out (pre release) that they have implimented a similiar or worse system, who would be prepared to simply not buy it out of protest? Obviously we come up against the fact that in order for ths to work we'd have to have a significant number of people protesting.

honestly i appreciate your poll and questions, but i think that theres no protest in pc world.
Not some examples worth the time anyway. The only protest that its effective in pc world is "pirating" a game. Let the scene groups do the rest and everyone will be happy.
That sux double time anyway. Because ACII crack iirc arrived after 6 months, if not a year, and HAWX 2 still uncracked, which is cool because i love both and im happy i bought them.
I still dont justify the price of AC2 thought, not on PC. If you get it on console, you can resell it. If you got it on PC, then you're screwed. And probably you will not play it again anymore, as a game like that is time consuming.
I think that they will take the same path as Brotherhood if they want to sell the game. -
@King
I agree. I think Download versions of games should be cheaper (atleast $10), as the Publisher is saving a "mucho" amount of money on manufacturing and packaging. They make only 1 version of the download, and provide server bandwidth for customers to download it from. Whereas the console version requires MASS manufacturing.
As for the original question, you can try boycotting, but I think that would only further screw PC gaming [imo]. If the debut sales for AC Rev on PC are horrible, they could just skip future PC versions of all their games; considering their "bread and butter" is already in the console market [doesn't apply to PC only devs]. -
I like Ubisoft as a developer because despite the DRM at least we get the damn game on PC unlike other devs who won't bother releasing anything on PC cause of piracy.

welll we could mass buy brotherhood and mass pirate revelation if it include the drm i think they would get the message

I do like turtles.

People did protest against the game and many of us, including myself refused to purchase it on the PC. If they did not lose sales then Brotherhood would still include the same DRM.
Many of us even emailed multiple EA contacts protesting against it too. There is protest in the PC world. If you look at The Witcher 2 no DRM, you see it had over 110K GOG pre orders. Many used that as an example and made a point of purchasing it to send out a message, a positive one so that's also a form of protest. -
I was under the impression that AC2 was cracked pretty damn quickly, regardless. Was it not?

I posted this becuase we have over 400,000 members in hope that it might be able to make some sort of an impact. It might be a long shot but it's worth a try.

i'l probably get my hands on a copy of brotherhood soon

The cost to produce a DVD, instruction manual, and case is less than $2. -
$2 plus shipping to store costs.
Anyways, it should still be cheaper than retail boxed version; even if it is only by $2. -

The older I get, the more I am willing to give in to stupid DRM.

Yes please! There's nobody online =( the multiplayer has great potential to be fun.

I wasn't planning on buying anything Ubisoft put out anyways so I guess I'm part of the protest already.
As far as why, I don't like Tom Clancy games and PoP/AC platform style games never appealed to me. That's not say I've never enjoyed an Ubisoft game, loved the first 2 Brothers in Arms, the first Far Cry, and Beyond Good & Evil. However they haven't put out anything since then that interested me, and their draconian DRM attempt totally alienated me from the company. -
why so ?
ubisoft does not have a tendancie to ruin everything they touch like EA does
they will likely try to find a way to kill bioware after ME3 if they havent adrealy screwed them up
AC revelations DRM
