Hi!
i get odd slowdowns with all 3d-games (such as R6 Raven Shield, Call of Duty 2 (without antialiasing and with dx7 rendering), Flatout 2). games run fastly for a while until they slow down and everything runs in "half-speed", then after few seconds of half-speed, games start to runs fastly again.
i've tried acer's own vga-drivers, ati mobility drivers, different omega's and mobility modded ati drivers.
i'm not sure if new catalyst drivers fixes the slowdown problem because i got another problem with all catalyst drivers (ati, omega, modded) newer than version 6.3. i took a picture of the screen (see the attachment).
i've also upgraded IXP chipset drivers and all the other drivers and bios is flashed to version 1.20

The problem you are having is not with drivers, but with overheating. The graphics card is clocking itself down because it is getting too hot.
Take a look at the cooling guide. I recommend that you get a cooling pad too. -
i all ready have antec notebook cooler pearl - cooling pad...

don't i loose the warranty if i open the case? aspire was once in repair service (last spring) because of the high temperatures.
well thanks anyways - guess i'll try to undervolt that bastard -
is there any freeware alternative for NHC Pro since i don't have money at the moment
and does the overheating cause that odd screen bug too? -

Can't you undervolt with NHC basic? And there's RMclock.
-
no i can't. there's nothing to change in voltages and i can't input any values.
-

There are other utilities you can use to undervolt your CPU - look in the discussion for the Compaq V2000Z:

temperature is 65c now at full load.. i changed the voltage to 1.200v.
-
everything seem to work fine now.. thank you fellas
btw.. is 65c too high? -

65*C @ full load is pretty good. My notebook gets about that hot, perhaps a few degrees less, at full load. You're well into the 'safe' zone for temperatures.

i undervolted the cpu with CrystalCPUID.exe but even though i added shortcut with right settings to start-up folder it doesn't automatically undervolt on boot-ups.
