Valve have provided the chance for people with Nvidia graphics card in their laptop/desktop to get Half Life 2 Deathmatch, Half life 2 Lost Coast, Portal: First Slice and Peggle Extreme for FREE. Juts click the link, and it will scan your hardware to see if it has an Nvidia graphics card and then the downloads will start up![]()
Edit: Portal: First Slice is 1/3 of the actual game that starts from the beggining of the game.

-
No problem. I have no idea what 1st slice is but its an extended version somehow. But it could be a exteneded demo, but then again Portal itself was a demo
Edit: Portal Fist Slice is 1/3 of the actual game. -
Why don't they put the hl2:deathmath and lost coast free for all?
They already put it free for people with ati graphics cards and now to nvidia. -
Great! Thanks for sharing!
-
Is it only available for a limited time?
-
lol portal with only the blue portal gun...bummer but still free is free!
-
Weren't all these things already free to begin with? They've been sitting in my games list for ages, well not 1st Slice, but I have the "full" game of portal.
-
bwah? portal = not free!
-
5GB download is too big for me.
-
If you have Halflife or Halflife 2 (or Orange Box), they automatically unlock a bunch of games, including the lost coast, HL Deathmatch and a couple others.
But they haven't been *free* until now. -
-
Does that link only get you Portal:First Slice or HL2: DM and HL2:LC as well?
-
damn i allready have all of those games. i got hl2 death match and lost coast from CSS.

There goes my challenge of two weeks without games...
Question:
After I download and install all of those games, can I delete the downloaded files and still be able to play the games? If so, how do I do that?
Another thing, if I want to "uninstall" a game, what do I do? How do I get uninstalled games off of the "Not Installed" list? -

Valve and NVIDIA Offer Portal: First Slice Free to GeForce Users
Leading Developer and Graphics Company Offer Award-Winning Game Via Steam
January 9, 2008 - The most recent Steam® Hardware Survey ( http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html) shows more Steam gamers play on NVIDIA GeForce hardware than any other graphics platform. In an effort to further support this popular PC gaming configuration - Steam games plus NVIDIA hardware - Valve and NVIDIA have entered into an agreement to collaborate on development, distribution, events, and more.
Effective immediately, all NVIDIA gamers may receive a free copy of PortalTM: First Slice, a special version of the award-winning new game from Valve, by visiting steamgames.com/nvidia and "Taking the test." Steam will then auto-detect the presence of NVIDIA hardware and make Portal: First Slice available immediately, free of charge. To make it easy for all NVIDIA customers to redeem this offer, a link to the Steam offer will also be included in all NVIDIA drivers.
"More Steam gamers, including myself, play on NVIDIA hardware than any other GPU," said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. "That's a testament to the company's long history of innovation and quality. By working together with NVIDIA to expand our development, distribution, and marketing efforts, we're increasing our ability to serve the millions of NVIDIA customers logging onto Steam and help us prepare for our next generation of content."
Throughout the coming year, the companies will also be working together to support competitive gaming events for Counter-Strike® and Team Fortress® 2 and will continue to work together to define and support the breakthrough features of tomorrow's games and graphics hardware.
"Valve's endorsement of our technology and tools is yet another example of how the world's leading gaming companies are working with NVIDIA," said Roy Taylor, vice president of content relations at NVIDIA. "Portal is the hottest new, award-winning title from Valve, and we're delighted that Valve will offer First Slice exclusively to GeForce customers."
Portal: First Slice is now available to all NVIDIA customers. For more information about the offer or to take the test, please visit steamgames.com/nvidia

A game that is free for ATI owners and for NVIDIA isn't a game free for ALL???
Or there is someone that can play HL2 with a Matrox G400?
I mean it's not an exclusive it's only a way to do some advertising -

And yeah, Steam simply shows what games you own. If a game is listed as "Not installed", it means just that. You own the game, you can download it whenever you like, but it's not currently on your computer. So there's nothing to remove.
Uninstalling games from Steam is pretty easy. (I can't remember if you can do it from within Steam, but otherwise you can just delete the folder they're stored in. Simple as that) -
Bump for I just got in on this and the offer still stands! New and current Steam users are eligible. 4 free games...nice.
ALL Nvidia card owners get HL2: Deathmatch, Lost coast, Portal: First Slice FREE!!
