I would wait for reviews etc.

So far if the betas or the 8.80 were any indiciation, it's just a new UI. No added benefits or anything that AMD users wanted like more options to customize in the settings. And also the new UI in the above are even slower the the old version.

So I would wait and find out if they suck as much as I think they may.

So it's not the final 10.12? Meh, I'll wait for the final drivers, I'm not having any issues with 10.10 currently.

Just a UI upgrade it seems. May be a "HUGE" spin on something that is but "HUGELY" mediocre. I'm going to pass..."HUGELY" .

I'm keeping an eye on this, though I know an HP version will be a month or two late. They still haven't released 10.11. :/

I've been following these drivers and as someone else eluded too it's basically a UI update that is slower than the previous one.

The only thing I want out of these drivers is full support of the 6870 card and just the drivers for me. I'll slap RadeonPro which does more and uses very little resources than CCC which is a bloated .NET utility that is nothing more than advertisement for ATI/AMD. ;)

With notebooks, more often than not, the mfg updates are better optimized than AMD's generic releases. If this release brings in performance improvements, I'll upgrade right away. I sure as hell won't for a new GUI. That is my 'HUGE' decision and I am HUGELY sticking to it. :D

Use the CCC from the new desktop with the laptop drivers.

They don't. Only the desktop preview have them. Read the description, it's called a preview, optional for those who want to test them.

It's just a new UI, nothing added. It's a HUGE disappointment.

It doesn't work properly. Same old UI as before and without the 3D live preview. The new CCC is not installing.

The only significant change I've seen so far is that UVD actually works.

Ever since AMD enabled DXVA 2.0, it has failed for 480p even though Nvidia had 480p supported for a while. It's not a big deal since 480p only takes about 1% of i7 CPU. But it's still a glaring failure.

I've noticed that DXVA 2.0 now works with 480p and it seems overall, 2D is snappier for me.

So that's the one good thing so far.

Looks like the overclocking tool use put inside the CCC now, I dont have to keep the amd clock tool open to keep an average temp and highest temp reading on, I can just check that im assuming

OverDrive has to be unlocked in your vBios and only Alienware/MSI I know of by default has that. Everyone else has to mod theirs.

They fixed the playing of 480p H.264 content. I am so happy, as it was aggravating me enough to contemplate switching back to the Green Team.

All the Steam "update" function does is open your web browser to AMD's driver page where you download and install them like you normally would. Nothing wrong with that.
