Have been playing around with my newly purchased laptop and have had lots of fun with the 6970 :D

I have found so far I can take the voltage down to 1V from 1.1V and still push the core up. So far hit 715mhz (same as 6990) and absolutely stable.

Anyone else have had success with the undervolt + OC combination. I haven't tested further so I don't know how far it can go yet at 1V lol all I know is it cuts temps nicely 5-10C cooler in furmark :)

The AMD Radeon HD 6970m is a beast. :3
I got mine up to 850 MHz core and 1050 MHz memory with stock voltage, but i think i need to give it some more juice to get over my overclock limit.

    I've managed 725/1000 @ 9.6v and 800/1050 @ 1.025v. Everything completely stable.

That is incredible! So this card could go up to 800mhz on just 1V if lucky!! That really is amazing. 1.1V practically is an overvolt lol

Perhaps tonight I will do some testing! Also looking to find lowest stable voltage for idleing. So far tested 0.7V at 240-720mhz. Hope to take it lower.

Also with so much bandwidth already at stock 900mhz (115GB) does it actually help performance bringing the memory frequency up. What game can take advantage of so much bandwidth??

Yep, mine 6970 works at 730/900@ 0.96 rock stable.
12000 GPU SCORE in 3Dmark vantage

I think without pushing the memory up, i could even go 750/900, but i am doing this in slow steps, eg, i am bumping the core up +5MHZ and i am starting to play for 3 hrs.
I noticed that you cannot rely on benchmarks, for stability testing, as they will run all fine, but laptop will crash after 5 min play in StarCraft 2.

    Updates to come

I always undervolt, (0.8V for idle and 0.95V for high clocks)

but any OC settings i've tried (no matter how minor) have been unstable and result in a GSOD

    Hmmmm

What about an undervolt on a 6990m? What about desktop clocks (6870) for the 6990m? (900/1100) ? Did anyone manage to push it that far?

I was able to get it to 886/1050. On the orb thats the fastest I've seen. Not sable though, and on stock voltages.

I've seen a lot of people at 850/1050, that seems to be a good stable clock for the 6990M.

i run stock clocks (680/900) at 0.92V, and for idle (100/150) i run at 0.715V!

The stock voltages on this card are ridiculously high ;)

I run mine @ stock clocks & 0.96V, rock solid.

I can go as high as 725/1000 stable without rising the voltage. 1.02V@800/1000 (had some crash in 3dmark11 @1V 800/1000 maybe it can go a little lower than 1.02 but i haven't tryed extensively).

@stock voltage (1.1V) i've tested them up to 850/1050, but not so extensively to say that they are stable 100% (only benchmarks, no game played at that frequency)

Overall i thing the cards are beast! :D

    Hi everyone,
After several weeks of trial and error with my 6990M. These are the rock stable OC+undervolting, I managed to obtain until now:

    OC: 740/900 0,96v
    OC: 780/1000 1,025v

I strongly advise using 740/900 at 0,96v, very very stable, great performance at very low temps :D
Recent Benchmark Tests with 740/900 0,96v:
    3DMark 11: http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2325815?resultType=3dm11&resultId=2325815

    Voltage suggestions for 800/1000? 1.04?
