    Hi people

I know this forum is about Intel + AMD GPU, but I want to try and thanks in advance

    I have an Enduro system: A8-5557M (8650G integrated) + RAdeon 8750M (GCN) + Windows 10 64-bit. The result is DirectX12 not recognized
Everything works perfectly, but with DX11. DXDIAG shows WDDM 1.3 and DX11.2

    - Windows 10 64- bit
    - DX11 fully functional
    - A8-5557M (8550G) + Radeon 8750M
    - 8GB RAM

I'm not looking for dual graphics support, just the discrete - I'm pretty sure it can be done.

    Anyway around this? modded drivers?

APU probably doesn't support DX12... Have you tried updating to new drivers to see if this is corrected?

    Hi TomJGX and thanks

The integrated 8550G is a pre-GCN part which does not support, but the GCN based 8750M does support DX12 (also, according to AMD). The problem is with the Enduro mechanism and the 8550G

I've tried the latest beta, the latest stable and the ones from Windows update, no help at all. The system takes it as 8550G
I guess there is an option to modify the drivers somehow..

Force dGPU-only in bios and re-install DX? May lock all registry keys after that, to prevent it switching to DX 11 again.

All GPUs in the system have to support dx12 for it to be an option I think as the driver model is different.

Seems like it, but no reason for it.. The integrated GPU is not used for rendering

DX12 is really going to be pointless at this point as no games support it and you just have some fancy number on the screen... The 8750M will be pretty useless for DX12 mode games so really, your fussing over nothing... Don't worry and ejoy your machine or get a new one...

I know and agree, but I would like to test this machine with AoS in DX11 vs DX12, just out of curiosity

The internal GPU has to be operating on the same direct-X level in order to accept and pass on the rendering properly.

Image if I had a friend much better at drawing than me, we both speak English but he also speaks Spanish. Now the computer asks me for something in spanish, my friend also speaks Spanish but I do not, how can I pass on the request?

Well, if you can remember the message and just pass it through, then you'll be ok.. The integrated GPU probably doesn't need to do much

Also, there were already laptops with Enduro system that uses an iGPU with a lower DX version ( example)
