    As the title says: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx#1

    EDIT: 11.5a hotfix http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst115ahotfix.aspx

    For 11.5a hotfix:

    "Includes performance optimizations and resolves various quality issues for the upcoming release of Brink™
    Resolves transcoding video lagging issues seen when converting multiple H.264 clips to MPEG2 Blu-ray video
    Resolves the intermittent mouse cursor lag issue seen by some users"

    A mobility mod of the hotfix is live soon on Guru3D

    I hope this is going to be a trend. Performance updates and consistent driver releases could mean serious competition to nvidia.

    It also fixes some weird problems with 6600 series cards, flickering, and DX9

    It's on the HotFix, which asder modded. But for things like this, tweet CatalystCreator and tell him and his driver team to stop forgetting mobile users on these hotfixes/previews.

    Ati has really improved a lot. First 11.4 that fixed the main live tv issue for me + great speed and now 11.5a already? Great! I don't remember nvidia having improvements so big in two month's releases. These couple of last drivers really made a difference.

    I haven't updated my graphics drivers in a long time and I wanted to know is it still necessary to uninstall your current driver before installing a new driver?

    According to ATI -> No
    From experience -> Yes you do and you have to boot in safe mode and use driver sweeper to sweep the remaining files

    seems to work fine by me.

    if you use driver sweeper terrible thing can happens

    if you really feel like you need to remove the old driver first just desinstal it normallyand reinstal the new one

    Nope. Actually the official from AMD is uninstall. Reboot, install new drivers.

    The whole just install over old install is outdated. That was from years ago. It's unfortunate ignorant people continue to perpetuate these outdated insturctions without even checking AMD's official site.

    With the new Nvidia drivers, you can just install without removing the old. With ATI you still need to uninstall the old driver, when will ATI evolve? :)

    ...but you don't have to uninstall for ati.

    at least you haven't since like 10.6 or so

    I mean people still say to do it but whatever.

    you also don't have to restart windows.

    It's always been best practice to do a clean install for amd drivers.

    I always find odd video glitches on doing upgrades that get quickly resolved by a simple clean install.

    Been getting them since Cat 9, and I been encountering them on my x1000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 series.

    Nvidia made it easier by adding the clean install option. :p

    yeah. though you're not supposed to clean install stuff with switchable graphics, or at least not all of it.

    otherwise you end up losing switchable graphics.

    Also for at least my envy 14 I can't go from HP drivers ---> 11.5

    I have to go HP Drivers ---> 11.2 --> 11.5

    and with some system using driver sweeper can cause you to be unable to reinstall any ati driver at all until you reformat

    so far this issue has apeared only on multi gpu system but i'm quite sure it can happens on others

    it's unfortunate that you have to start name-calling. how do you know people who install over old drivers are ignorant? i've tried other ways and this works best for me, and maybe others, too. there is no need to belittle anyone.

    i have installed HP version 9.11 -> HP 10.1 -> HP 10.3 -> ATI/AMD 10.4 -> 10.8 -> 10.10 -> 10.11 -> 10.12 -> 11.1 -> 11.2 -> 11.3 -> 11.4 -> 11.5, all over the previous versions. no problems, whatsoever. so, given my history, there is no need for me to uninstall/driversweep anything before installing the new version.

    thank you for the update. Just got Brink, will try on my 6750m

    edit*

    hmmm shows up at 6600/6700 series under device manager, updated fine but now I cannot overclock. MSI afterburner and ATI tray tools both won't open saying can't recognize or something. Is this because it's a mobility modded driver? 11.5a

    I get BSOD on a new driver install if I use express uninstall beforehand. If I just install a new version over the existing one - works without any problems.

    I have switchable graphics on my new dv6...

    I was wondering how I am supposed to update the drivers, and if there are any specific steps i need to follow in order not to lose the switchable graphics option?

    could anyone who has experience with this please enlighten me?

    thanks in advance
